Project introduction
Geo-Drill develops drilling technology intended to lower geothermal drilling cost by improving rate of penetration and tool life. The concept combines a bi-stable fluidic-amplifier mud hammer, low-cost sensors and monitoring along the drill string, and graphene-based materials and coatings.

Structural dynamics and non-Newtonian fluids; a drilling hammer percussion system developed and optimised through 3D fluid-structure interaction; shape optimisation of fluidic oscillators via Latin Hypercube DoE, metamodelling and genetic algorithms.
