Project

Development of Novel and Cost-Effective Corrosion Resistant Coatings for High Temperature Geothermal Applications
H2020 · Geo-Coat
Project introduction
Geo-Coat develops high-performance protective coatings — including high-entropy alloys and cermets — for geothermal plant components exposed to corrosion, erosion and scaling from geofluids. The project also captures material-resistance principles to support protective design of turbines, valves, pumps, heat exchangers and related equipment.
Flowphys contribution
Extension of the 1D transient thermodynamic flow assurance simulator to multiphase geothermal flows; coupling to chemical equilibrium modelling; corrosion, erosion and scaling models; surrogate-based parameter optimisation of coatings.
